Volleyball Manitoba is pleased to announce the athletes for the 2017 Team Manitoba Canada Games Beach teams. The selection process wrapped up on June 25, following the Canada Games training and test event. Athletes were selected based on an assessment of current skills and potential, along with results from the past 2 seasons at Provincial, National or International beach volleyball events. Congratulations to the following athletes:

Josie Abbott (Winnipeg, University of Manitoba) and Kearley Abbott (Winnipeg, University of Manitoba)
Alternate: Katie Friesen (Niverville, Florida International University)

Daniel Thiessen (Winnipeg, University of Winnipeg) and Ben Hooker (Winnipeg, University of Western Ontario)
Alternate: McKenzie Hildebrandt (Steinbach, Canadian Mennonite University)

As preparation, the teams will be competing in the Vancouver Open from July 14-16. The highlight will then be the 2017 Canada Summer Games, here in Winnipeg. The beach volleyball competition will take place from July 28 – August 4 at the Sargent Park Beach Volleyball Centre.
