Power Smart Manitoba Games – Steinbach 2016
The Manitoba Games is the largest on-going multi-sport event in the province. Like the Olympics they take place every two years alternating between summer and winter. The program is administered by Sport Manitoba and implemented by the selected host society with each Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) leading their sport specific planning and implementation.

Final selection camps for each of the regions are now being scheduled. Athletes who have attended a development camp and who registered online will receive an email explaining the next steps of the process. The final selection camp dates will vary by region and will be completed by June 12th. As the times are confirmed, details for each region will be posted on our website. We thank everyone who has participated in a development camp for your support of the Power Smart Manitoba Games program.
Volleyball is once again a part of the Manitoba Games in the summer of 2016. The category for volleyball is 14U Boys & Girls Indoor (born in 2002 or later). The 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Games will involve 8 teams for each gender including 2 from Winnipeg, and one team each from Eastman, Central, Westman, Parkland, Interlake and Norman regions.
The Manitoba Games are a first step for many athletes on our performance pathway and as such we are wanting to offer the opportunity for as many players as possible to attend a development camp. Each session has a limit to how many players we will accept so the coaches can provide a quality experience and properly evaluate each of the athletes. With this in mind, we will be offering multiple camps in each of the regions. Players who have attended a camp are not expected to attend again and priority will be given to those who are attending a camp for the first time. Should there be space available, an athlete can choose to attend again and the regular costs will apply. All revenue from the camps will be used to offset the costs of running the program.
Athletes who are identified with games potential will be invited to the final selections occurring in the spring of 2016. There will be no charge for the final selection camps. Team selection will be completed by the end of May 2016.
