A Simple Way To Raise Money For Your Club or Team
Clubs work hard to keep fees at a minimum, yet we know there is a cost to play volleyball. Teams have competition, equipment and coaching costs, so we would like to help! Volleyball Manitoba has been working with a local company (Funding Change) in an effort to host an ON-LINE raffle during the club season to help your team with your fundraising efforts. It’s a simple way to fundraise with no paper tickets to manage or money to collect, all sales are done on-line.

Cumulative Pot Raffle Explanation
- Raffle runs from Feb – May, 2017
- Monthly pots are 50% of total sales that month
- 50% of monthly pot goes to the monthly winners (draws on Mar 1, Apr 3, May 1)
- 50% of monthly pots plus 100% of May pot roll into the final Jackpot prize (draw on Jun 1)
- Every ticket sold monthly (except in last month) can win the monthly pot AND have chance at the accumulating jackpot drawn on Jun 1.
Fundraising Program Explanation
- Teams get assigned a unique URL to access the raffle through to buy or to share with friends, family who buy and share
- All tickets purchased through the teams link get tracked
- 50% of all sales paid out to winners, 30% supports the teams through your sales, with 20% covering administration costs (MB Lotteries, Funding Change & Volleyball Manitoba).
- Coaches / Team Manager sign up through Volleyball Manitoba to receive their url and info.
- Manager, coach encouraged to share the unique URL and encourage team/parents/supporters to buy and share frequently over email or through team management App (Team snap, Sports Engine Etc).
- Teams must sell a minimum of $200 to be eligible to receive funds.
- Funds to flow back to teams through VM by cheque at end of the season.
WHY:
- Easy way to fundraise – just buy through the link and share link with others asking for support.
- Can reach outside of events and sell to more people in social circles
- One raffle means one pot which means more attractive for purchaser than a small raffle.
By running a raffle like this and having your team sell tickets, the raffle can grow to be HUGE, with you sharing in the proceeds. Imagine the pot size with all the club teams helping to sell! PLUS, with the proliferation of smartphones – buying a raffle ticket couldn’t be easier. AND… it’s simple to share it with others over social media, text or email with the click of a button!
